Tragic Ending To A Great Event, 22 Wounded 1 Dead At Trenton Art Festival

Before the tragic shooting that injured 22 festival attendees, I was enjoying the artsy cool local event with my family like many others on Saturday afternoon. So much local talent was displayed from artist from all walks of life, Local Children, African Americans, Hipsters, Punk Rockers, LGBTQ and Latin community. The vibe was Music, food drinks and entertainment, they even had a small silent party in side the gallery.

Dressed in jeans and a black t-shirt that said in bold Straight Out Of Trenton Mayor elect Eric E. Jackson greeted the public and encouraged everyone to enjoy and be sure to support the venders. He also said he wants to have more events within his city. My kids sweated a storm and had a blast, yet there was a small aroma of marijuana in the air. It was more noticeable when I was leaving the event around sunset. I also saw more teenagers arriving, my wife noticed as well. We both was hoping the event didn't go sour, now that night has fallen. My last words where "na the Mayor is here and there's cops all over no one is that stupid".

Was I so wrong! The 24hour event was shut down before 3am when a gun man opened fire on said to be a rival gang from another town. At the end of the chaos 22 wounded 1dead. The deceased was shoot and killed by officers. All other suspects have been arrested. A event that was to bring together the community ruined by gang feud. Not a shock to most in Trenton, known for its guns troubles. The governor calls for gun laws to strengthen and wants to target the source of these illegal guns coming into the state. Such a Great gathering! Yet this shooting has many Trenton residents hoping this accident doesn't pull the plug on future events.
