Texas Revolution

n 1824, the Mexican government enacted the overall colonisation Law that secure land possession to any or all heads of house, despite race. For Black families - a number of whom 1st settled there within the 1700s - this was a tremendous chance aquire land.

But things took a flip for the worst. The Mexican government realised that white U.S. settlers refused to be naturalized as Mexican voters and blatantly unheeded their slavery laws. The Mexican government prohibited U.S. immigrants this resulted into - Mexican Texas Revolution. Texas became Associate as a freelance country, and would later be a part of the U.S. Once a republic, Texas established the Act regarding Free Persons of Color giving free Black folks living there 2 options: take to the woods or be sold-out into slavery.
