Sources confirm to Deadline that Sasheer Zamata is leaving Saturday Night Live, the show’s third cast member in a week to leave.
Rumors about a third departure started circulating on social media Saturday night. By Sunday morning, E.T. Online had confirmed that Zamata would be exiting the show alongside Moynihan and Bayer.
S.N.L. has never quite known what to do with Zamata’s particular skill set—which lends itself much better to long-form showcases like her recent special, Pizza Mind. Still, she definitely deserved a more proper goodbye than just playing the lead woman in an ill-advised child molestation robot sketch. Zamata wasn’t even in the graduating seniors sketch.
